Preacher Woman

No hidden agendas, no politics, no absolutes – just seeking Christ together.

Pastor Catharine’s Blog

This blog isn’t the word of God. It’s simply my interpretation of what I’ve read, studied, and learned along my ever-evolving journey of faith in the company of the Holy Spirit because God’s Word is living and active – not just a book about a bunch of ancient peoples we think we could never relate to. As we study the folks within the pages of the Bible (the historical context) we are compelled to ask ‘so what?’ How does this apply to me in the 21st century? (the application) As we answer those questions for ourselves, we will be amazed at how much we have in common!

I invite you to join me in the journey. I hope you not only are willing to read my thoughts, but add your own – as we engage in the conversation we are truly church! Read now!

In the Stillness

‘Be still and know’ it says in Psalm 46. Be still and know what? “Know that I AM God.” But this knowing doesn’t just come by a quick reading of the word or some preacher woman’s blog. It comes as we listen to the unique ‘so what’ found for each of us as we pray and meditate, consider each others’ thoughts, and give expression to what we hear.

I will share my additional scriptures, prayers, and poems in this space and hope you will share the products of your stillness here as well. This is how we are truly church – listening, praying, and sharing God with others without judgment or hidden agendas – without any need to be right – but always with a profound need to be God’s!

I invite you to listen, pray, and share.

Glossary of Terms and Other Stuff

So often when we go to church, people use “insider talk” making us scared to ask questions. Not here. Here is where you’ll find a glossary of terms, Biblical facts and everything else that might help us in our conversation. Glossaries are never fun – so much detail! – but always helpful so we don’t feel like we are entering the twilight zone!

The references will remain in place, I’ll keep adding to as we go along. Should you want to ask for further clarification – this is the place to comment!

Start exploring!

Every day awake is another opportunity to love as God loves.
