Joshua 24:15: Now if you are unwilling to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
Choice has always been a part of our relationship with God. To choose to follow into unknown territory and be confronted with unknown adversaries – trusting in God – or choose the easy and the comfortable. Choosing our way over God’s might seem reasonable, but if I have to choose between following Someone Who knows the plans for the future, and how to get there or choosing my own myopic way forward, hopefully I will always choose the wise, albeit unknown Way!

And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year:
“Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.”
And he replied:
“Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God.
That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.”
So I went forth, and finding the Hand of God, trod gladly into the night.
And He led me towards the hills and the breaking of day in the lone East.
