IN THE STILLNESS

Matthew 7:7-8

Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.  Christ’s promise to all on the journey.

The asking, seeking, knocking is so often taught as getting what we want from our favorite genie, Jesus, to make our lives in this world complete.

I believe it’s even more: asking for Christ to reveal the truth of the Godhead as the Holy Spirit leads us on the journey; searching for God in the midst of our day to day living so that all will become a bit more clear – for God is always as close as our very breath – indeed the breath of the Spirit is our life!; and as we knock on the gates of heaven, we finally make our way home, and all answers come together and we realize that we haven’t wrapped our minds around God – but we are within the very mind of God once more!

Prayer:

Lord God, lead us deeper into Your presence. Lift us higher in our understanding of You. Widen our perspective of Who You are and Whose we are. Through the leading of the Holy Spirit, let as continue on the journey of faith, strength upon strength, joy upon joy, until at least we see You face to face and all is known! In the name of our Lord, Jesus, I pray. AMEN.
